Today, the first town hall meetings supplying information on the settlement in principle surrounding the BP oil spill will take place.

As I’ve mentioned in previous posts, the PCS (Plaintiff’s Steering Committee) of the MDL (Multidistrict Litigation) settled in principle with BP in March. This settlement in principle would benefit many businesses and families. There are two proposed classes in principle, an economic and property damages and medical benefits.

So many people would gain compensation that they rightfully deserve. I would suggest attending one of the meetings this week even if you are unsure of any harm caused to you due to the spill. The meetings are meant to educate those who know they were affected by the 2010 spill as well as anyone else along the Gulf Coast who may be able to make a claim.

Check Businesses by the Beach for updates on these free meetings.
