BP Oil Spill Settlement Leads to Town Hall Meetings Across Florida's Gulf Coast

Business owners and residents affected by the 2010 oil spill are encouraged to attend free town hall meetings scheduled this week across Florida's Gulf Coast. As part of a collaboration known as Businesses by the Beach, a group of Florida law firms will meet with business owners and residents who suffered losses after the spill. New legal options are now available in the wake of a settlement reached last month with BP in principle.
The settlement agreement, reached on March 2, 2012 in principle, will replace the Gulf Coast Claims Facility (GCCF) administered by Kenneth Feinberg.
Businesses by the Beach will educate Gulf Coast businesses on their rights as they pertain to the pending settlement, which involves the decrease in revenues that thousands of businesses and residents living in affected areas experienced in 2010 due to the BP oli spill.
Tampa’s Law Office of Thomas L. Young serves as the Florida coordinator for this large undertaking with The D'Alemberte Trial Firm assisting from Miami to Key West.
